SUMMARY:Chamber Cartel: Pleiades
LOCATION:The Goat Farm\, 1200 Foster St NW\, Atlanta
DESCRIPTION:Pleiades is an epic percussion sextet by legendary composer I
annis Xenakis. Performed on more than 50 instruments\, the work features
a remarkable set of six microtonally tuned metal keyboards known as the
Sixxen\, specially built by Artistic Director Caleb Herron. Unlike anyt
hing you've heard before\, the Sixxen create a singular\, shimmering sou
nd that has to be experienced live.\n\nThe remaining movements showcase
an expansive percussion palette\, from the powerful drums of Peaux to th
 e marimbas\, xylophones\, and vibraphones of Claviers. Chamber Cartel's
 percussionists — Jeremy Muller\, Aaron Michael Butler\, Paul Stevens\,
  Khesner Oliveira\, Victor Pons\, and Caleb Herron — bring Xenakis's m
onumental score to life.\n\nGoat Farm hosted the Southeastern premiere o
f Pleiades in 2015\, and Chamber Cartel is thrilled to share this bold\,
strange\, and exhilarating masterpiece with Atlanta once again.\n\nUpda
