The short version: atlftw is a community calendar, not a data business. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, nothing sold — and we collect the absolute minimum needed to run an event calendar.
Event suggestions. Everything you put in the suggestion form — event details, the flyer, your vouch — is meant for publication: if the event is approved, it appears publicly on the calendar. Suggestions are anonymous unless you're logged in, in which case the event can credit your username (you control that).
Accounts. Only moderators and contributors have accounts for now. An account is a username, a password (stored scrambled — we couldn't read it if we wanted to), and optionally an email used for nothing but logging in and recovery.
Spam protection. When you submit an event, your IP address is held in server memory for about an hour to limit how fast one person can submit. It isn't written to our database.
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and debugging. They're deleted on a short rotation and never used to profile anyone.
No advertising. No analytics scripts. No social-media pixels. No selling, renting, or sharing data with anyone. No profiles of visitors. The calendar doesn't care who you are — it just wants you to go to more shows.
A session cookie exists only if you log in; a security (CSRF) cookie protects forms. Neither tracks you across other sites. Your poster-size preference (S/M/L) is remembered by your own browser and never sent to us.
Our typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers — Google sees your IP address the way any file host does. That's the only third party a page here talks to.
Uploaded flyers are published as-is. Photos can carry hidden metadata (like the location where a photo was taken) — strip it before uploading if that concerns you.
Subscribing to an .ics feed means your calendar app periodically fetches a public file from us. We don't know or track who subscribes.
Want an event, image, or credit taken down? Ask — see below. Removed content disappears from the site immediately and ages out of our backups within about thirty days.
One honest caveat: anonymous submissions carry no proof of who sent them, so we can't verify that a removal request comes from the original submitter. Those requests are handled case-by-case, at our judgment.
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date. We won't quietly get worse.
